What to expect

I endeavour to create a safe and collaborative space that is non-judgemental, inclusive, and trauma informed. Together we will work to understand your lived experience. We will explore how current and past challenges impact your life, the ways that you have adapted to these challenges and how you can move closer to the life you want to live in the present moment. I believe that each individual is the expert in their own experience and that the therapeutic relationship provides a safe foundation for self exploration and a deeper understanding of oneself.

In the therapeutic process I utilize a multimodal approach to treatment drawing on both my knowledge and training and your lived experience.
I am intensively trained in the following modalities: Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), DBT-CPTSD for the treatment of complex trauma, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Attachment Based Psychotherapy, Mentalization Based Therapy (MBT) and mindfulness based practices.

Therapy may consist of a few sessions to work towards a specific goal, crisis stabilization or a reduction in specific symptoms. It may also be a longer term therapeutic relationship aimed at addressing long standing patterns and gaining a deeper understanding of yourself. Over the course of the first few sessions we will identify what is the best fit for your needs.
